Prior to joining Intrigue, Lucas served as the Vice President, Production and Development, Film and Television, for Harvey Weinstein, where his career began as an assistant. During his time at The Weinstein Company, Lucas was an executive on MARCO POLO, the period drama for Netflix, Oscar-nominated THE READER, and Rob Marshall’s musical, NINE.
At Intrigue, Lucas currently serves as an Executive Producer on projects including BLOWBACK, an original drama at The CW Network for Warner Bros. Television, ELEMENTS, an hour drama at USA, written by James Frey, with Amblin Partners for UCP Studios, OURO, a french remake of a drama format for FX Network, THE PAPERHANGER, his own adaptation of William Gay’s cult short story at ABC Cable Studios, with drama development at Universal Television Studios, CBS Cable and CBS Broadcast Studios, Sony Pictures Television, Warner Bros Television Studios, with half-hour comedies at 20th Century Fox, and Sony Pictures Television.
Lucas retains “gold member” status at participating Benihana Restaurants and is often enlisted to do stunt work for the thespian, Jane Lynch. It is rumored that he once coached the University of Tennessee Women’s Basketball team, The Lady Volunteers, to a perfect season in 2009.
